IMOGEN RIDGE
Imogen, 21, studies harp with Ieuan Jones at The Royal College of Music and is an RCM Foundation Scholar supported by a Douglas and Hilda Simmonds Award. Prior to this Imogen studied with Miriam Keogh, Head of harp at JRAM. She is an Aldeburgh Young Musician alumnus, member of AYM’s Exchanging World’s Ensemble, a Concordia young artist and founding member of Britten Sinfonia Academy. She was awarded a prestigious Ganzoni Bursary by Aldeburgh Music in recognition of her outstanding contribution to their AYM Programme.
The last two summers Imogen was invited to attend an international harp summer school in Italy to study with Emanuela Degli Esposti and Ieuan Jones. Previously she was selected to attend HarpMasters Academy in Switzerland where she studied with with Karen Vaughn and Irina Zingg. In 2016 and 2017 she performed with the Britten Pears Orchestra at the Snape Proms conducted by Semyon Bychkov and Marin Alsop. Imogen regularly performs with the RCM Philharmonic and RCM Symphony orchestras. She recently played in Strauss’ Alpine Symphony with the RCM Symphony orchestra conducted by Bernard Haitink.
In 2016 Aldeburgh Music invited her to be the pre-prom soloist performing before the Royal Philharmonic's concert on the final evening of the Snape Proms. Imogen won the JRAM Prize for "Harp, Guitar and Harpsichord”. She has also performed in masterclasses with harpists and composer David Watkins, Stephen Fitzpatrick, Marisa Robles, Anneleen Lenaerts, and Cathy White. Additionally, Imogen has been mentored by Stephen Fitzpatrick, Eleanor Turner and Royal harpist, Hannah Stone.
